You are effectively reducing a very complex scale of aggression and fear down to "physical" and "non-physical", which is absurd.
Why is that the important distinction and not "Gun" and "No Gun"? From my vantage point, the situation got far more unpredictable when someone drew a weapon, which creates a far greater range in possible outcomes than that of shouting and shoving.
