Honestly I don’t think he’s even a master liar. Not much about this seems very masterfully done. Largely because he never needed to do so since OP has believed all the bullshit he told her for 7 years with little pushback or hard questioning. It’s honestly a little astounding how naive OP has been all these years. And even now after knowing what she knows now, OP just positions this as being “a huge blow to my trust”. A huge blow to your trust? The fuck? How would you even continue a relationship now knowing this. What’s been hidden for years. By that I mean OP, her boyfriend has literally been hiding her from all his female friends. The fact that the thrust of that text is basically “I’m with someone now and I think it’s getting seriousssss”. Oh word? Just now? For OP it was probably serious 7 years ago. Now, what comes next from him- that will be the master liar taking over. He’s gonna have to convince her. And she already seems determined to trust him some more”. The fact that this is going to be a further conversation and not simply breaking up— is very telling.
