neurodivergent soloists share their burnout playlist, very normal
Nothing like that feeling!
Of knowing burnout is around the corner and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Of realising you’re in that stage of the ADHD burnout cycle where you’re still functioning and pushing through everything that needs to happen but it feels like you’re wading through mud.
The tasks themselves aren’t impossible. You’re still doing them. But everything requires noticeably more effort than it did a week ago, and the brain feels slower to start, slower to switch, slower to recover.
It’s that strange middle phase where you haven’t fully crashed, but your nervous system is clearly running on fumes.
And you know the logical solution would probably be rest… but sometimes life delivers situations where resting simply isn’t an option yet.
Moving house is definitely one of those situations.
So for now it’s just one step at a time through the mud, and trusting that once the chaos settles hopefully my brain will eventually get the recovery it’s asking for.
I’m curious how other people notice when they’ve entered that “pushing through mud” phase and what you do about it.
