correcting croissant pronunciation while correcting pronunciation gatekeepers
i wonder how the person that nit-picks over someone's lack of understanding of French, word origin, or whatever with "voilà", how that same nit-picker says/pronounces Croissant.
Same goes for any other word native to or rooted in another language that Americans often anglicize, like, for instance many Spanish place names.
oh, Croissant is not Kruh-sont. It's closer to Kwah-san because oi makes the wah sound and t is kinda there, but often silent, or so quiet as to be functionally silent.
