screen protector AI discourse hits different when you're terminally online

Why is AI marketed so aggressively when no real consumer seems to care?
It's AI this, AI that. Even in places where it makes absolutely no sense, like I saw a screen protector with a "powered by AI" text on it. But why is it being marketed so aggressively when the majority either doesn't care about AI, or actively avoids it? Is it just to appeal to shareholders? And in advertisements, actors are shown unironically interacting with and enjoying using AI. No real person does that, except for the AI bootlickers that do. It's like they've deluded themselves into thinking this is what people want when it isn't. I just don't get it.
