Marco Rubio declares emergency to skip homework, sells bombs instead

US approves sale of more than 20,000 bombs to Israel
The Trump administration has bypassed congressional review to approve the sale of more than 20,000 bombs to Israel worth about $650m, according to US officials.
The State Department said Secretary of State Marco Rubio had determined that an emergency existed, allowing the administration to waive the usual congressional review process.
US officials also said Israel would buy a further $298m worth of munitions through direct commercial sales.
A UN report published in December 2024 said similar heavy munitions had likely been used by Israel in densely populated areas of Gaza during its genocidal war on the Palestinian territorY
